What to Expect

Explore the majestic northern side of Mount Etna with our special 4x4 vehicles. Starting from an altitude of 1,800 metres at Piano Provenzana, our tour continues along a scenic route that winds through ancient craters and recent lava flows. As we ascend, the landscape transforms dramatically, offering a glimpse of nature's raw power. Our 4x4 vehicles, perfectly suited for off-road driving, ensure a safe and comfortable journey to higher altitudes.

Our first stop is the Volcanological Observatory at an altitude of 2,850 metres, where we will spend approximately 30 minutes. Here, you can learn about the geological history of Mount Etna and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. Next, we head towards the Umberto and Margherita Craters, where a short trek along the rim of these massive extinct craters awaits. The journey continues with a brief trek to the top of Pizzi Deneri, offering, weather permitting, spectacular views of the Aeolian Islands, the Ionian Coast from Syracuse to Taormina, the Gulf of Giardini Naxos, and the Calabrian coast.

After reaching the summit and soaking in the impressive vistas, we will descend a sandy slope for our return to Piano Provenzana. This adventure is ideal for families and friends seeking adventure and wanting to learn more about the area.
