Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as we journey through the awe-inspiring Asterousia Mountains, revealing the hidden gems and rich history of the region. Our adventure begins by driving through the scenic vineyards of Crete, known for their grape varieties and renowned wines. We will pass through charming villages that host many famous wineries, immersing ourselves in the local culture.

Our first stop is the village of Agios Thomas, perched at an altitude of 760 meters and boasting a history that dates back to 1371 AD. Here, you can explore Byzantine churches, the ruins of a Byzantine aqueduct, and Roman-era tombs, providing a fascinating glimpse into the past. As we continue, we will traverse the lush Messara valley, driving through expansive olive groves until we reach the historic Monastery of the Virgin Mary, Odigitria. This 14th-century monastery is sure to captivate you with its charm, and you can also visit the museum to see artifacts from Cretan daily life.

We then take a picturesque dirt road to Matala, a village on the southern coast of Crete that became famous as a haven for hippies in the 1970s. You will have free time here to enjoy the village's unique beauty and explore the famous caves where the hippies once lived. We conclude our journey with a peaceful drive back to the hotel, leaving you with cherished memories and stunning photographs.
