What to Expect

Embark on a thrilling underwater adventure and explore the wonders of the deep with our SSI Open Water Diver Course experience in Palamós. This comprehensive course includes up to three dives, allowing you to practice essential skills and techniques. You will begin with online theory sessions to learn the basics before moving on to practical sessions. Each day, you will participate in two practice dives at Cala del Morro del Vedell, with a maximum depth of 18 metres. These dives will help you build confidence underwater and master the necessary techniques for safe diving.

During the dives at Cala del Morro del Vedell, you will have the opportunity to explore fascinating underwater landscapes and observe a variety of marine life. The clear waters and diverse ecosystem make it a perfect spot for beginners to practice. With all equipment provided and expert guidance, you can focus on enjoying the underwater scenery and improving your diving skills.

How to get there

• Meeting place: Port Marina Palamós

• Meeting time: 15 minutes before the start of the activity

• Car parks nearby: within a 5 minute walk (paid and free)

Programme

e-Learning:

If you choose the eLearning option, we will send you the access details to the online study programme which you will complete before the start date of your course. On the first day of your course, just come down to the dive centre and show us the confirmation slip you received from the eLearning platform to show us that you have successfully completed the theoretical part of the SSI Open Water Diver course. Then, you can move straight on to the practical part of your scuba diving experience.

Practice Sessions:

In both cases, we will meet at the dive centre, at the agreed-upon time, check you in and have you fill out the necessary paperwork, including the SSI Medical Statement. When it gets to your first practical diving sessions in the pool, we will provide you with all the rental equipment you need. The exact schedule of your course is set individually, based on your progress with the theoretical part of the course and on how much time you have to spare during the following days. We will discuss this on your first day at the dive centre.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 12 years

• Swimming ability

• Physical health

• If you wear prescription glasses, you need to be comfortable wearing contact lenses

Good to Know

• You are allowed to bring your own drinks and snacks

• Not suitable for people with bad heart conditions

• Not recommended for people who suffer from any back problems, or had any back operations

• You should not fly within the next 24 hours after the dive

• Diving spot can change based on weather conditions

• The subscription for the SSI platform is 100 euros, that it is done at the moment that you receive the reservation, so it is important to know that it is not refundable
