Experience Moroccan heritage, culture and traditions on this day trip from Fes to the Middle Atlas Mountains with pick up. The day begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Fes in a comfortable, air-conditioned van or minibus. Your first stop is Immouzar Kandar, a place recognized by the Apple Festival held annually in September. Here, you will find Berber families living in simple caves. Enjoy an on-road stop to admire the surrounding hills of Ain Vittel and capture some stunning photos.
Next, the journey continues towards Ifrane, a charming village often referred to as "little Switzerland," built in 1930 by the French. In Ifrane, you will visit Al Akhawayn University and see the iconic Stone Lion. Wander through alleys lined with French architecture and cross the cedar forest to reach the national park, home to around 75% of the Barbary apes. Enjoy a memorable sight experience with these Barbarian Monkeys and take a break for lunch.
The final stop is Azrou, a Berber village situated at an altitude of 1250 meters in the center of Morocco's Middle Atlas region. Here, you will see houses of the Berber tribes, the first inhabitants of Morocco. During the trip to Azrou, watch Berber men with their flocks, grinding flour, and practicing their trades, especially carpentry. A short visit to a Berber village will allow you to learn about Berber life, culture, and traditions while enjoying a cup of Moroccan tea. The tour concludes with a return to your Fes accommodation. This offer is ideal for those seeking a deep dive into Moroccan culture and history.
