About the Activity

What to Expect

Explore Ephesus and discover the culture of the area with this day trip from Kusadasi to Ephesus Ancient City with a professional English-speaking guide. After pickup from the pier in Kusadasi, start your tour with a 20-minute drive to Ephesus. Ephesus is an ancient city located near the town of Selçuk. It was one of the most important cities of the Roman Empire and is considered one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world. Visitors to Ephesus can explore its well-preserved ruins, including the Library of Celsus, Hadrian's Temple, the Great Theater, and the Terrace Houses. The Basilica of St. John is also located near Ephesus and is a popular pilgrimage site for Christians. Walk through the marble streets of the classical city and admire these impressive monuments.

Next, stop at the House of Virgin Mary, one of the pilgrimage centers for Christians and the site where Virgin Mary passed her time and died. Discover its history with the former Popes, and see the gifts they brought for this shrine. Your tour continues to the Temple of Artemis, also known as the Artemision, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Although the temple was destroyed in a fire, its ruins were later rediscovered in the 19th century. The Temple of Artemis remains a significant part of ancient history and is considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites in Turkey.

Enjoy a local lunch at a restaurant if you want, before heading back to Kusadasi port. This tour is ideal for people who are interested in history and like sightseeing.
