About the Activity

What to Expect

This guided tour in Oslo with Ferry to Nakholmen Island & Aker Brygge is a must do! We start our adventure at Jernbanetorget, where we meet at the Tiger Statue outside the Oslo Visitor's Center at Oslo Central Station. After a short briefing, we hop on an electric tram for a short ride through the city to Aker Brygge. This modern waterfront district is renowned for its trendy restaurants, shops, art galleries, and scenic promenade overlooking the Oslo Fjord. Here, you will feel the lively pulse of the city while enjoying the serene views of the fjord.

From Aker Brygge, we board one of the city's fully electric public transportation ferries for a quick 10-minute ride to Hovedøya island. Famous for its medieval monastery ruins dating back to the 12th century, Hovedøya offers an atmospheric glimpse into the past. We will explore the abbey ruins, stroll through the serene monastery cemetery, and take a scenic walk along one of the island's trails. Do not miss the chance to capture the beautiful panoramic views of the fjord or even take a quick swim at one of Hovedøya's beaches.

Next, we hop back aboard the ferry for a 25-minute ride to Nakholmen Island. Unlike Hovedøya, Nakholmen is inhabited, boasting around 180 charming coastal cottages where families spend their summer holidays and weekends. This island is a special piece of Norwegian paradise and a great example of the country's deep-rooted cabin culture. After enjoying Nakholmen, we catch a ferry back to Aker Brygge, allowing us one last chance to take in the beauty of the fjord. Finally, we board the tram back to Jernbanetorget, where our memorable journey concludes.

The tour is perfect for nature lovers and history enthusiasts and lasts around 4 hours, including public transportation.
