About the Activity

What to Expect

Come travel with us to the north of the island and through the tropical rainforest of Martinique. Our journey begins in Fort-de-France where you will board a comfortable bus, perfect for a relaxing day of exploration. Our first stop is the Schoelcher Library, a stunning architectural gem designed by Henri Picq and named after the famous abolitionist Victor Schoelcher. This library is a must-see for its unique design and rich history.

Next, we will visit the church of the Sacred Heart of Balata, often referred to as the "Mini Sacré-Cœur" of Paris. Nestled in the hills, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. From there, we head into the heart of the rainforest at the bridge of the Alma river, where you can immerse yourself in the lush tropical environment. A short drive later, we arrive at the Cascade du Saut Gendarme, a beautiful waterfall where you can take a refreshing swim in its clear waters. This natural spot is perfect for capturing stunning photos and enjoying the serene sounds of nature.

Our adventure continues with a visit to the Depaz Rum Distillery, offering a look into the rum-making process, complete with a tasting session and shopping opportunities. We then make our way to Saint-Pierre, a coastal city rich in history, where you can explore the cathedral and the remains of the 1902 volcano disaster. Weather permitting, you will also get a magnificent view of the Mont Pelée Volcano. Before heading back, we stop at a banana plantation and spend more than one and a half hour relaxing on a black sand beach in the small fishing village of Le Carbet. The return trip takes us along the scenic Caribbean Coast, passing through charming fishing villages. This tour is ideal for anyone seeking a real change of scenery.
