What to Expect

Let us take you on a unique glacial hiking experience on the Sólheimajökull Glacier. Begin with a leisurely 15 to 20-minute stroll along a gentle gravel road, leading you to a breathtaking view of the entire glacier. This serene path sets the tone for the adventure that lies ahead, as you approach the icy expanse with anticipation.

At the base of the glacier, we will equip you with crampons and provide instructions on their use. Our expert guides will ensure your safety by explaining essential guidelines before you embark on an exhilarating 2-hour hike on the glacier itself. As you navigate the icy terrain, you will have plenty of opportunities to capture stunning photographs while our knowledgeable guides share fascinating insights about this majestic natural wonder.

Throughout this 3.5-hour tour, you will experience the awe-inspiring features of the glacier, such as its mesmerising crevasses and deep moulins. How to Get There

• Meeting place: Sólheimajökull parking lot

• Meeting time: at the booked time

• Car parks nearby: within a 1 minute walk (paid)

Itinerary

• Departure from Sólheimajökull parking lot

• Safety and equipment briefing

• 15-20 min hike to glacier

• Hike along the crevasses and mouilins of the glacier

• Return to Sólheimajökull parking lot

Requirements

• Minimum age: 8 years

• Only suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness

• Not suitable for toddlers, pregnant women and the elderly
