Explore the Arctic fjords with our kayak tour around Tromsø. Late fall and winter months are some of the best seasons to kayak here. The water is crystal clear, the air is crisp, and the early afternoon sunsets are beyond beautiful. As you glide across the tranquil waters, you will find yourself surrounded by the bright colors of fall, with white-tipped peaks in the distance. As the landscape transitions into a winter wonderland, you will paddle through the serene sounds, islands, and archipelagos. During the darkest period from mid-November to the end of January, the polar nights offer an enchanting backdrop with stars twinkling all day long. Surprisingly, kayaking in the Arctic winter is warmer than you might think!
Equipped in drysuits to keep you warm, you will witness the rich wildlife around you. Look out for common eiders gathering urchins, white-tailed sea eagles scouting for prey, or a shy otter swimming away with its latest fish catch. Often, a curious seal or two will show up by your side, following you for a while, adding a touch of magic to your adventure. The sound of the paddles cutting through the water and the sight of the majestic landscape will create unforgettable memories.
Halfway through the tour, we will find a nice beach where we will go ashore to explore. Here, you will enjoy a snack and a hot beverage amidst the stunning scenery, allowing you to soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The kayaks are stable and comfortable, perfect for both beginners and experienced paddlers looking for a unique Arctic experience. As you return, the changing light of the day will highlight the beauty of the fjords, leaving you with a sense of wonder and fulfilment.
