What to expect

When you are in Oslo, exploring the Oslo Fjord with our Sailing boat trip is a must! Step aboard the classic sailing ship S/S Helena, where the charm of maritime history meets comfort. As you relax, the ship offers infrared heaters and cozy blankets to keep you warm against the crisp fjord breeze. Indulge in a selection of refreshments from the onboard bar, including hot cocoa and mulled wine, while you prepare for an unforgettable exploration of the Oslo Fjord's iconic landmarks.

The journey begins in downtown Oslo and swiftly moves through narrow straits and peaceful bays, granting you views of islands adorned with picturesque summer cottages. Your first highlight is the formidable Akershus Fortress, a medieval castle that has stood guard over the city for centuries. As you glide past the modern Opera House, admire its innovative architecture that seems to rise from the water. Next, you will encounter the serene island of Hovedøya, known for its lush greenery and ruins of a Cistercian monastery, offering a glimpse into the area's rich history.

The tour continues with a passage by Bygdøy, a peninsula teeming with museums and royal estates, showcasing Norway's cultural heritage. Marvel at the historic lighthouses that have guided seafarers through generations. Super cool and unique experience around the fjords and overall, with English-language explanations of what we were looking at. We did the 2 hour ride and it felt just nice. The ship is quite big, and you can get drinks and snacks on it.
