Join us on an exciting Husky sleigh ride through the snow-covered lappish landscape in and around Muonio, where you may spot wildlife like reindeer, moose, and arctic foxes. Your day begins with a brief introduction on how to safely steer the sledge, followed by harnessing the eager dogs and positioning them in front of the sledges. As you take the reins, you’ll glide through a winter wonderland, passing scenic mountain ranges and dense forests, with opportunities to observe historic sites and experience Sami traditions.
If you are sharing a sledge, the passenger can capture the stunning scenery in photos, while the driver focuses on the task of steering. About halfway through, you will have the chance to swap positions, allowing everyone to partake in the experience. As the tour comes to an end after 10 kilometres, we will work together to remove the harnesses from our loyal companions. Enjoy some final cuddles with the Huskies, before rewarding them with a well-deserved meat soup or chicken snack.
Once the dogs are relaxed and content, it is time for us humans to warm up in the cozy glow of an open fire in the Kota. Sip on hot juice and savour some Finnish pastries as we reminisce about the journey and answer any lingering questions you might have about the dogs. This memorable experience, perfect for winter lovers and dog enthusiasts, lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, leaving you with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for the beauty of the lappish wilderness.
