What to Expect

Experience the thrill of a Husky sleigh ride through the snowy Lappish landscapes of Muonio, where you might catch glimpses of wildlife such as reindeer, moose, and arctic foxes. Your adventure begins with a quick briefing on how to handle the sledge safely, followed by the exciting process of harnessing the eager dogs and setting them up in front of the sledges. Once you take the reins, you’ll glide through a magical winter wonderland, passing breathtaking mountain ranges, frozen lakes, and dense forests, with the chance to explore historic sites and learn about Sami culture.

For those sharing a sledge, the passenger can enjoy capturing the beautiful scenery in photos while the driver focuses on steering the sledge. Around halfway through the ride, you can switch places, allowing everyone to enjoy the full experience. After covering 15 kilometers, we’ll all work together to remove the harnesses from our faithful dogs. Take a moment to give them some love before treating them to a well-deserved meal of meat soup or a chicken snack.

Once the dogs are settled, it’s time to warm up by the comforting glow of an open fire in the Kota. Sip hot juice and enjoy Finnish pastries while we reflect on the journey and answer any questions you have about the dogs. This unforgettable experience, perfect for winter enthusiasts and dog lovers, lasts around 2.5 to 3 hours, leaving you with lasting memories and a deep appreciation for the stunning Lappish wilderness.
