Experience the thrill of a day trip Husky sleigh ride across 30 kilometers of snowy Lappish wilderness around Muonio, where you may spot wildlife like reindeer, moose, and even arctic foxes. Your day begins with a short safety briefing on handling the sledge, followed by the task of harnessing the enthusiastic Huskies and positioning them in front of the sledges. Then, as you take the reins, you'll be gliding through a stunning winter wonderland, passing frozen lakes, mountain ranges, and dense forests. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to learn about Sami culture and see historic sites.
For those sharing a sledge, one person can capture the incredible scenery in photos while the other drives, and there will be a chance to swap positions midway so that everyone can fully experience both roles. The journey includes a well-deserved break to enjoy a small included lunch. After covering the 30-kilometer route, we’ll work together to unharness our loyal Huskies, giving them a bit of attention before they enjoy a tasty meal of meat soup or a chicken snack.
With the Huskies relaxed, we’ll warm up by an open fire in the Kota. As you sip hot juice and savor Finnish pastries, we’ll reflect on the journey and answer any questions you may have about the dogs. This unique experience, ideal for winter lovers and dog enthusiasts, lasts approximately 5 to 6 hours and is sure to leave you with unforgettable memories and a newfound love for the breathtaking Lappish landscapes.
