What to Expect

Make your stay in Martinique unforgettable with a trial scuba diving experience in Sainte-Luce. This activity, recommended for those who have never been scuba diving before, gives you the opportunity to get close to the underwater fauna and flora typical of the West Indies. Accompanied by a certified diving instructor who will look after your safety, you will discover the fascinating world of diving as you take your first plunge down to 6 metres. Children can also enjoy the thrill of diving, as our trial dive is available from the age of 8.

Dive Area

The bay of Sainte-Luce, where our diving centre is located, in the south of Martinique, benefits from the protection of Pointe Sainte-Anne: the scarcity of trade winds and currents means you can enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea all year round. Our dive sites are within 3 to 30 minutes' cruising distance. For trial dives, we often favour the Tit Kaye site, off Sainte-Luce, where the shallow waters are teeming with life and perfectly suited to beginners.

Programme

We meet you at our dive centre at the booked time. If you're diving in the morning, you will be offered a coffee to get the day off to a good start. Then, after filling in a quick questionnaire to get to know you better, your instructor will give you the right equipment. We will then head for our boat, the Volitans, moored just a minute's walk away. On board, your instructor will introduce you to your equipment and how it works, explain how the dive works and give you a few pointers on using the equipment and communicating underwater.

Once at the diving site, each participant will dive in turn with the instructor, who will look after one diver at a time. In the water, the instructor accompanies you on a slow, gradual descent. They will stay in contact with you throughout the dive and, if you feel comfortable enough, may let you dive on your own. Then, after a few minutes, you will slowly return to the surface. Once you have removed your equipment, you can recover from your emotions by enjoying a cool drink on board. On the way back, you will have a chance to chat about what you've experienced, reliving the memory of this unforgettable moment!
