At the ski school office in Bad Hofgastein (at the valley station Neue Schlossalm)
At the "Skizentrum Angertal"
Unfortunately, it wasn't a teen course as advertised; there were children up to 13 years old in the course. The ski instructor was very nice and the course was fun, but nothing new was taught.
Fun, action, trying out new things, learning a lot and all without parents in tow
Son has learned a lot in this week. Groups are not super big, a maximum of 10 people. In the afternoon even smaller groups, so there is a lot of attention. Had a great week and learned a lot.
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.
Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.
Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.
The lessons are designed for teenagers between 13 and 17 years old.
These lessons are for advanced skiers who want to expand their skills.
The varied programme includes video analysis, carving, freeriding, and a safety briefing. There is also an "adventure day" to explore nearby villages and the chance to try other sports like snowboarding or snow bikes.
Lunch is not included in the price. Lunchtime supervision can be booked for €18 per day at the ski school office before the first lesson and is mandatory for all full-day courses.
The groups consist of a maximum of 10 participants.
