Private Off-Piste Skiing Lessons for Intermediates & Advanced Skiers

What to Expect

Take your skiing beyond the marked pistes with a private freeride ski lesson for teenagers and adults who already have a good level of skiing ability. During the lesson, your experienced instructor will first assess your skiing and adapt the session to your experience and goals. You will work on off-piste technique, including how to stay balanced in changing snow conditions, control your speed and choose suitable lines. These skills are important for skiing safely and confidently on terrain that is less predictable than a groomed piste.

As the lesson progresses, you will practise skiing in powder and varied terrain, with the instructor choosing suitable areas according to the conditions and your ability. More experienced skiers can work on steeper terrain, turning technique and overall control, while the focus remains on making your movements more efficient and controlled. You will also learn more about off-piste safety, including how to assess the terrain and adapt your skiing to the current conditions. With a maximum of 4 participants, the instructor can give you detailed feedback and adjust the exercises throughout the lesson.

The lesson can take place in Kitzsteinhorn, Zell am See or Saalbach, depending on the individually arranged meeting point and the conditions. Kitzsteinhorn offers high-altitude skiing around the glacier, while the wider Zell am See–Kaprun and Saalbach areas provide access to varied mountain terrain. Your instructor will select suitable terrain for the session, allowing you to put your skills into practice while developing a better understanding of freeride skiing, terrain choice and confident off-piste technique.
