Kids Ski Lessons (4-11 y.) for First Timers - Lofer

You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.

You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.

Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.

Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.

Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.

The meeting point on the first day is at 10:00 am at the assembly area at the mountain station of the "Almbahn II" cable car, opposite the Restaurant Soderkaser. Please allow at least 40 minutes for the ascent, or 1 hour during peak season.

The course card can be picked up on the day before the course starts at the ski school office until 6:00 pm.

Children learn through fun games and with various aids like ropes, wheels, and fun noodles. For more advanced kids, the program can include trips to the fun park and wave alley.

For children participating in full-day courses, lunch can be taken with the group at a partner restaurant. The details can be arranged directly with the instructor.

The lessons are designed to help children make huge progress in a short time. Based on past experiences, many kids are able to ski on blue and sometimes even red slopes after just a few days.
