The Chassezac canyon is a must in the Cévennes, with its breathtaking setting in deep, sunny gorges, offering a unique granite environment. This discovery route, accessible from the age of 10, is ideal if you do not wish to attempt the full descent, which can be demanding. But don't worry, you will have your share of fun and breathtaking landscapes! With its many obstacles, the canyon provides a complete canyoning experience, mainly focused on abseiling. Tour programme
- Preparation:
We meet at the Chassezac lookout car park at the agreed time. Your guide will provide you with the equipment and you will walk 20 minutes to the entrance of the canyon. The group is limited to a maximum of 10 people.
- Tour:
Once you reach the canyon, the 2-hour descent can begin! A variety of obstacles await you, including abseiling down to 7 m, natural slides, jumps (which can be bypassed) and swimming under rocks, depending on the water level. The wide canyon will impress you with its mineral environment.
- Return:
At the end of the route, we leave the canyon and have a 25-minute walk to reach the cars.
