The Almbachklamm is one of the most beautiful gorges in the Salzburger Land and not for nothing our most popular canyoning tour. In this varied gorge you can expect endless fun - jumps, swimming passages and exciting slides. A scenically beautiful tour to get a taste of canyoning. Tour programme - Preparation: We pick you up at your hotel between 12 and 1 pm and take you to our base, where you will get your equipment and can change. Afterwards, we drive to the gorge with our bus, where an introduction will be given by the guide. After a very short ascent we reach the entry point. - Tour: The route can be adapted to your individual wishes - there are moderate and difficult variants. Many jumps are voluntary, because you have to climb up to undertake them - if you don't want to, just bypass the point. - Return: At the end of the tour we drive back to the camp, where you can shower and change. After a glass of champagne or a beer we take you back to your hotel. Tour facts - Canyon: Almbachklamm (difficulty level: easy) - Description: The Almbachklamm is in principle the continuation of the Strubklamm, interrupted by the Wiestal reservoir. It offers several jumps and swimming routes. - Total duration: 3-4h - Time in the canyon: 1.5h - Abseiling height: 8m (only to avoid jums, not obligatory) - Jump height: from 1.5m to 8m (optional) - Slide length: 6m - Maximum number of participants per guide: 8 people Included Services - Complete high quality canyoning equipment, i.e. helmet, wetsuit with hood, life jacket, neoprene socks, neoprene top to wear underneath if desired, neoprene gloves depending on weather conditions (available wetsuit sizes: kids 145 to XL) - High class harness and rope material - State-certified canyoning guide - Hotel transfers. It quickly became clear that our two youngest would not be able to keep up with the pace of the older participants. The leaders rightly decided to separate my wife, myself, and the two youngest from the group. This removed the pressure to perform for the little ones. They were able to take in the experience at their own pace and take the time to build their self-confidence, which meant both enjoyed the fun and challenging jumps. Along the way, we as parents were not forgotten; we also had the chance to do a challenging jump here and there while our leader, Pere, kept an eye on the children. The cheerful team welcomed us at the meeting point on time and provided us with the equipment including special shoes. The gorge is not only amazing in terms of landscape, the pools, slides, jumps and swimming holes also seem endless. The guide (the best we had experienced so far) not only explained everything to us very well, but also carefully checked all the places beforehand. We were still able to experience the highest jumps depending on our mood. I find the tour quite feasible for most people, as you are taken straight to the top at the start and the adventure in the gorge begins straight away without a super strenuous climb. All in all, an amazing day with a great team. We'll definitely do the other tours with Crocodile Sports too; as great as we were able to experience today.
