About ESF Val Thorens

The ESF was the first ski school in Val Thorens in 1971, and now has 300 mountain-loving instructors who pass on their passion for skiing and snowboarding in the magnificent 3 Vallées ski area every season. Half a century of teaching shared with heart and enthusiasm to enable everyone, from the age of 3, to learn or improve on the slopes, in group lessons for a friendly learning experience or in private lessons for a more individual approach - to try out a new discipline like ski touring and telemark skiing. I booked english speaking lessons on the second day the group was divided and i had another instructer It did not go well she would give instruction in french only so i did not know what she was saying. She also shouted loudly at me and made so nervous that I had a couple of bad falls and left the lesson early I felt so u happy that i went to the office the next day and cancelled the rest of the lessons My son in the other group also cancelled as he had the same problem he was the only english speaker in his group and was not getting intructions despite having previouly booked english lessons The recptionist at the office was very helpful and apologised for my bad experince she admitted that my instructer was not english speaking She arranged for us to cancel our renaining lessons and use the credit to book a one to one lesson for me the following day The one to one was an excelkent experience with a young man called Jules who was patient and a good teacher who helped me improve my skills
