I’d rate this 4 stars: enjoyable, safe, clean and well organised, but slightly overpriced and less inclusive than it could have been. A relaxing two-hour boat trip with beautiful swimming This was a pleasant and relaxing boat trip along the Taormina coastline. Two hours felt like the perfect duration: enough time to enjoy the scenery, visit the grottos and swim without the excursion becoming tiring. Communication through WhatsApp was fast, clear and precise. The boat and guides were easy to identify at the pickup point on Letojanni Beach, and we were returned there afterwards without any problems. The boat was small but modern, clean and well maintained, with shade, a little cushioned area at the front and a basket for shoes. The driver appeared very experienced, and I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the journey without any seasickness. We saw beautiful coastal views and entered some of the grottos and sea caves around Taormina. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy, so we could not see Mount Etna clearly, but we still captured some stunning photographs and videos. We did not see dolphins—which my sister had been excited about—but we saw what appeared to be flying fish, which was still very cool. The highlight was stopping for approximately 20 minutes to swim in a peaceful area away from the crowds. The water was beautiful and deep, with lots of fish swimming around us. It felt wonderfully calm and secluded. The guides were friendly and relaxed, although they interacted much more with an Italian family they appeared to know. As English-speaking guests, we would have appreciated more explanation and engagement, especially as the tour was advertised in both English and Italian. Some information was also repeated several times. After swimming, music was played and guests were offered limoncello. My parents enjoyed this, but my sister and I do not drink alcohol, so it would have been thoughtful to provide a proper non-alcoholic alternative. At almost €30 per person, the trip felt slightly expensive for what was included; around €20–€25 would have represented better value. Overall, it was a clean, safe and enjoyable small-group experience with excellent communication and a beautiful swimming stop. Not extraordinary, but certainly a lovely and peaceful way to see the Taormina coast.
Giacomo and Antonella are two wonderful people and gave us a truly special experience: we enjoyed an aperitif with prosecco and fresh fruit, a lovely swim in the sea, and even went dolphin-spotting! It's an experience I highly recommend to anyone looking to unwind and relax.
Nice boat trip with friendly people, even saw dolphins!
