About Voilemed Grau-du-Roi

Voilemed, founded in 2002, provides sailing initiation on a maxi racing catamaran, led by Alain Petit-Etienne, a passionate and experienced skipper. Boasting prestigious victories, including several first-place finishes in major races during the 80s and 90s, and speed records, Alain has been sailing since his childhood in Saint-Malo and established a sailing school in Deauville. After a career filled with transatlantic races and the construction of the "Région de Picardie" catamaran with Gino Morrelli, he settled in Martinique and then returned to Europe at Port-Camargue. In addition to excursions off the Grau-du-Roi, Alain now also offers sailing tours in Martinique, around the beautiful Anses d'Arlet, providing both thrilling sensations and stunning scenery.

We received a very friendly and welcoming welcome for our sailing experience, including from the owner himself. The whole experience felt very informal and uncomplicated. We were introduced to a few simple rules. There was plenty of space on the catamaran, and we were able to spend the entire time lying on large cushions directly above the water, which was very exciting. We witnessed a lot of the sailing activities, such as hoisting the sails. Everything seemed very routine and experienced, but also very personal. The trip was great fun; we can absolutely recommend it.
