We had three excellent private 2 hour lessons with Remy at Vallorcine’s La Poya base. It is the perfect place to learn with a variety of gentle slopes and not too crowded. All the ESF instructors were very friendly and encouraging, and Remy took me in just six hours from a total beginner to skiing down the slope by myself (albeit nervously!). He also helped my step-daughter, who already had some experience, to build her confidence and move onto steeper runs. The base at La Poya has a relaxed and friendly vibe and is an scenic 20 minute drive from the centre of Chamonix. If you don’t have a car it’s an easy train ride with a station right at the base.

Can't thank Sylvie enough for her amazing work teaching my two teenage sons how to feel confident on the slope in just 2 hours! Sylvie perfectly adapted the lesson to suit their very different characters and abilities. My eldest son (16) said her teaching method was "fast and efficient" and felt so proud of his achievement by the end of the lesson. I got a call the day before to arrange a new meeting point, which was the best location for their lesson and very convenient to reach. Money well spent to start of our skiing holiday.
