Adult Ski Lessons (from 15 y.) for First Timers - Viehhofen

You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.

You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.

Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.

Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.

Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.

You will learn the basic skiing techniques, such as the snowplough and making turns. Soon, you will be able to make your first descents on easy blue slopes.

On the first day, the meeting point is at the ski school office Ski Dome 3 (Glemmer Strasse 260, 5752 Viehhofen), 10 minutes before the start of the lessons.

During low seasons, lessons for groups with fewer than 5 participants are held as half-day sessions (2 instead of 4 hours). During high seasons (Christmas, New Year, and February semester breaks), the lessons still take place for 4 hours per day.

The lessons are held in small groups of adults of the same level. One review mentions a group of around 12 people.

The instructors are multilingual. A past guest mentioned that their instructor spoke Dutch, English and German.
