Goal of the course
Upon completing the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will be equipped with the necessary skills to explore the underwater world alongside a qualified buddy. You can dive to a depth of 18m and can also take part in PADI adventure dives. You will learn how to assemble, and use your scuba gear, and practice a broad set of skills, including how to avoid decompression sickness, how to track your air usage, how to communicate with your buddy and much more. With your PADI certification, you will be able to rent equipment and join accompanied and unaccompanied diving excursions at PADI-affiliated dive centres around the world.
Meeting & Preparation
In order to participate in the PADI Open Water Diver course, you don't need any prior scuba diving experience. On the first day of the course, we meet at 08:00 am at the dive centre. You will begin with the Knowledge development part of the course which takes place in our classroom. Note that the theoretical part of the course can also be completed in independent study with the help of the PADI eLearning program. In any case, all learning materials are provided and are included in the price. Once you're done with the first theoretical lessons, you're ready to try your first practice dive in a shallow, protected part of the sea.
Course content
- Day 1: 2 Theory Lessons + 2 Practice dives in shallow water
- Day 2: 1 Theory Lessons + 3 Practice dives in shallow water
- Day 3: 1 Theory Lesson + 2 Open Water Dives
- Day 4: 1 Theory Lesson + 2 Open Water Dives
The order and length of the individual parts of the course can change and will be individually adapted by the instructor.
