Take advantage of your holiday on the Atlantic coast and obtain the certification for independent diving! The worldwide recognized PADI Open Water Diver certification enables you to discover the hidden secrets of the seas and gain new experiences together with a diving buddy. Our experienced and certified instructors will safely teach you both the theoretical and practical skills of this sport. During the four open water dives at the Berlengas Islands, you will also have the opportunity to experience an incredible underwater landscape up close!
Goal of the course
In this course, you will learn all the basics of diving and more. You will gain the confidence to explore the underwater world, learn how to handle diving equipment correctly and the permit to rent or buy it worldwide. Upon completion of the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will receive the certification of the same name. You are then free to explore and discover all the seas!
Meeting & Preparation
We meet at the booked time at our diving centre in Peniche, where free parking is available. The first two days are spent at the dive school where we have our own classrooms and pool and the last two are designated for dives in the sea at Berlenga Island.
Course content
- Theory online
- Day 1: Pool session
- Day 2: Dive 1 and 2 at Berlenga Island
- Day 3: Dive 3 and 4 at Berlenga Island
Note: The order and length of the individual parts of the course can change and will be individually adapted by the instructor.
Included Activities
The PADI Open Water Diver course consist of three phases:
- Knowledge development (5 theoretical modules carried out through eLearning platform).
- Confined water dives to learn basic scuba skills (5 modules in a pool, which will be grouped into a single or double session according to the logistics).
- Open water dives to practice the skills and explore different dive sites (4 dives in the sea in Berlengas Natural Reserve, Peniche, carried out over two days).
