River trekking is the only way to discover the exceptional site of the Grand Canyon du Verdon. With the Couloir Samson, you are making the choice of the most vertiginous part of the gorges. Be prepared to be amazed by the exceptional landscapes in which you will evolve! Your state-certified instructor will accompany you on an unforgettable journey through breathtaking limestone cliffs. Among friends or family, this descent is recommended for all lovers of great outdoors and original activities. Simply breathtaking!
Tour programme
- Preparation:
We welcome you at our base at the Huttopia Gorges du Verdon campsite at the scheduled time. There you will meet your instructor. You can use our changing rooms to change and leave your things, we advise to leave your valuables in your vehicle. Once your equipment is picked up, we will take our mini-bus to reach the site. A 10-min walk along stairs will take us to the beginning of the tour. On site, before you go into the water, a briefing on the activity and safety instructions will be provided.
- Tour:
Unlike canyoning, river trekking does not involve abseiling passages and all obstacles can be avoided. During your descent, you will evolve in the enchanting scenery of the Grand Canyon and you will enjoy swimming in the middle of the characteristic turquoise water of the Verdon, rapids or even jumps. A few technical passages await you but nothing insurmountable!
- Arrival:
Once the descent is complete, the walk back to the mini-bus will take about 20min. The return is made through tunnels. You will then be taken back to the campsite where you can enjoy its facilities (showers, Wi-Fi, restaurant, swimming pool...) to recover from your emotions, before resuming the course of your day!
