Details
A holiday in Portugal would not be complete without riding some waves: so don't miss the chance to participate in our surfing lessons at Praia da Lagoa de Albufeira in Sesimbra. Just 40 kilometres south of Lisbon, the Atlantic ocean offers perfect conditions to practice surfing, no matter whether you are beginners or advanced surfers. Our certified surf instructors help all adults and children from an age of 7 years to work on their surfing skills in small groups with a maximum of 6 participants.
Meeting & Preparation
We meet at our base right at Lagoa de Albufeira (free parking available). Here you get changed, store your things in a locker, meet your instructor and receive your equipment. We then head to the beach where we start the surf lessons with a theoretical introduction.
Course ContentLevel 1:
- Getting to know the equipment & safety rules
- Assessing surf conditions and currents
- Basic surfing techniques: being in the water, sitting on the board, paddling, surfing and take off
Level 2:
- Wave priority rules and safety rules in the critical surf zone
- Overtaking the critical suf zone to the outside
- Selecting the wave & positioning
- Advanced techniques: duck dive, take off, drop bottom, leading arm, trimming and kick out
