If you are looking for an easily accessible sporting activity to liven up your holiday, our 18-km canoe trip on the Tarn river will satisfy your thirst for adventure. Combining our two smaller routes, you navigate along the end of the Tarn gorges, ready to marvel at the spectacular landscapes of the region. Expect to spend a memorable day taking in picturesque villages, in the heart of the untouched wilderness.
Tour programme- Preparation:We meet
directly at our base 15min before the booked time. A
free car park is waiting for you on the spot. Our team will welcome you and then provide you with the equipment and safety instructions to carry out the activity without risk. You will then take our shuttle bus which will take you to the starting point on the Vignes pond.
- Tour:Start by going up the current on foot to go and admire the famous
Pas de Soucy, which offers a unique view of the river, where the rock has collapsed, rendering the Tarn river underground. Once in your canoe, the route starts with a fun waterslide. Then the paddle begins. Calm sections and rapids alternate, with notably the
La Sablière rapid, where a photographer is waiting for you to capture your descent. You will pass along
pittoresque troglodytic villages nestled in the Causses' cliffs. Once the Broken Bridge with its unique arch is crossed in Le Rozier, you enter a quieter section of the Tarn where you can admire many villages of character such as Liaucous or Mostuéjouls. It is also possible for you to stop along the way on one of the natural beaches for a swim or a picnic.
- Return:After about 5hrs of paddling (without counting breaks), you reach the beach in the village of Peyrelade. Our shuttle is waiting to take you back to your vehicle.
