Surf Lessons for Kids (6-9 y.) on La Savane Beach

Do your children like to play in the waves and want to discover surfing? On La Savane Beach in Capbreton, we offer surfing lessons specifically designed for our youngest students, between 6 and 9 years of age. From a single session to try out surfing, to a 5-day course to make real progress, your children will be taken care of by our qualified instructors in small groups of a maximum of 6 participants. They will surf in shallow waters, at low tide, and will learn to stand on the board thanks to playful and dynamic teaching methods. The start of a whole new passion!

Meeting & Preparation
We meet at our school at the time agreed upon after booking (free parking is available nearby). On site, changing rooms are available and you have the possibility to store your child's personal belongings in a locker. Then, the proper equipment will be provided (full wetsuit, foam board). Afterwards, we go to the beach, 3 minutes away on foot.

Lessons are usually conducted on La Savane Beach but may exceptionally take place on La Prévent Beach if conditions are not optimal.

Start time
The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions, so please plan some extra time on the day of your surf lessons. Please contact our school 2 or 3 days before the first lesson to confirm the exact start time.

Course content
- Theory session on the beach
- The right warm-up
- Practice on the beach
- Practice in the sea: the instructor is always in the water to ensure the children's safety and to give them confidence.

Surfing beginners at our school are typically able to:
- After 1 day: catch a wave near the shore, keep their balance and start to stand up on the board
- After 5 days: catch waves near the shore standing up
Please note that everyone's learning progress is different as some people learn quicker than others.
