Boat Trip to Koufonisi from Makris Gialos

Enjoy a day in Crete with our boat trip to Koufonisi departing from Makris Gialos Port. Situated in the Libyan Sea, it is the biggest in a cluster of islets, and it has a distinct historical and natural heritage. On our way, we will pass by the breathtaking bay formed by rock formations.

Koufosini has a total of 36 beaches with the finest sand and emerald water, perfect to have a swim or go snorkeling. Their historical heritage include many Roman ruins including a theatre. Our ship will anchor on the island, so you can discover all of its beauty. For lunchtime, you can bring your own food or eat a delicious home-made Cretan meal on our ship.

After lunch, you can continue to enjoy and explore the rest of the island, take a swim in a secluded cove, or go snorkeling to see the marine wildlife such as the corals of the Mediterranean Sea. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also visit the little chapel of Agios Nikolaos, patron of seamen, located in the north of the island.

Departure & Return
We will meet at the port of Makris Gialos in Ierapetra 40 minutes before departure time. There is a free parking area at the port if you come by car. You can also come by bus from Ierapetra or Sitia which takes approximately 45 minutes. Once the trip is over, we will return to the same port to disembark.

On certain days we are unable to disembark passengers by boat on the island. During this time, our boat will approach the shore at a short distance, to facilitate access for passengers who want to swim to the island.
