If you are spending your vacation in Corfu and are eager to try scuba diving, our Discover Scuba Diving Program in Messonghi allows you to do just that, without having to go through extensive theoretical training. This is a great way to explore the marine wildlife of the east coast of Corfu and experience what it feels like to breathe underwater and experience weightlessness, similar to an astronaut.
Dive Area
Our Discover Scuba Diving program usually takes place on the beach in front of Messonghi Beach Hotel. The waters here are an excellent starting point for beginners, as the area is part of an ecological network of protected areas called Natura 2000, which aims to ensure the survival of some of Europe's most endangered species. As such, there is plenty to see underwater for beginner divers.
Program
We will meet at the dive center at the time indicated on your booking confirmation, free parking is available. We will ask you to complete the medical statement and set up your equipment. We will start the program with a 20-minute introduction to the basics of scuba diving and the essentials of using your scuba equipment. Next, you will get equipped and dive in the water in front of Messonghi Beach Hotel to start putting the theory into practice. You will do some simple exercises like cleaning your mask or checking your buoyancy before moving on to your first real shallow water dive - no worries! You will be under the supervision of a trained and experienced dive instructor at all times to ensure your safety. The maximum depth during the first dive is 8 meters.
