The Verdon gorges are one of the top summer destinations in France. And within the largest canyon in Europe, rafting is definitely the activity to do! Families with young children or those looking for an easy but fun descent will be delighted to do this 7-km rafting tour on the Verdon river. Starting in Castellane, your guide will provide you with anecdotes during the descent and tell you when to paddle to gain speed for maximum thrills.
Tour programme- Preparation:We meet at our base in
Castellane at the time booked. There is a private car park and changing rooms on site. Your guide will brief you on safety and the use of your equipment, before taking our shuttle to reach the starting point of the tour. Then it's time to hit the water!
- Tour:The rafting tour starts with a
breathtaking view of the Castellane ramparts, the Roc and its chapel perched 200m high. Then the fun can begin! You will alternate between calm areas to admire the emerald waters and the steep cliffs of this natural wonder, and rapids for some excitement. The tour will end at the
Barre Saint-Jean rapid, where you will get some splashes. Throughout the tour, the guide ensures your safety from the raft, while providing you with information about the area.
- Return:After 1.5 h, you will reach the end of the tour in Chasteuil. The shuttle will be waiting to take you back to the base where you will collect your belongings and your vehicle.
