Surfing is the most popular sport in the Landes region. And Messanges, located not far from the European capital of surfing, offers ideal conditions for practice, whether you are a beginner or at an advanced level! Our surfing lessons are designed for everyone from 9 years old, whatever your level. Indeed, beginners will be placed in groups of similar age (children, teenagers and adults) while advanced surfers will be put together, regardless of age.
Each group has a maximum of 8 participants and is supervised by a state-qualified instructor. While looking after your safety, your instructor will give you advice and tips so that you can progress, whether in learning the basics or in perfecting your technique. From the very first lesson, you are guaranteed to have a great time!
Meeting & Preparation
We are waiting for you at our school's base on the south beach of Messanges 15 minutes before the start of your surfing lesson. You will be able to change on site and put your personal belongings in our lockers. Then we will give you the equipment before heading near the shore for the start of the session.
Start time
The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions, so please plan some extra time on the day of your surf lessons. We will inform you in time after you have completed the booking.

Surfing beginners at our school are typically able to:
- After 1 day: catch a wave lying down and standing up on the board
- After 5 days: surf on the small waves near the shore and surf unbroken waves, depending on the ocean conditions

It was a bit disappointing how far it was to walk from the parking lot to the surf school and then a long way to the surf spot on the beach, but our son enjoyed his lessons. The language was no problem either, they spoke good English
