If 12 meters depth is not enough for your scuba diver spirit, the PADI Open Water Diver course in Lagos for beginners is the right one for you. On the magnificent and famous Algarve coast, you will learn the theory and practice of scuba diving in up to 18 meters depth. The crystal clear water that shines in all different shades of blue and the earthy steep cliffs that build underwater caves invite you to explore the Atlantic Ocean from an underwater perspective. A variety of colourful fish, as well as lobsters and octopuses, are waiting for you under the surface.
The PADI Open Water Diver is designed for beginners who want to get fascinated by the underwater world. The conclusion of this course enables you to engage in a lot of guided (boat) dives around the world together with a certified scuba diving instructor. The theory sessions will be completed at home via e-Learning. So on your holiday, you can focus on the most fun part of the course - scuba diving itself! What are you waiting for?
The PADI Open Water Diver qualifies you to:
- Dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres/60 feet
- Plan and execute dives with a certified buddy
- Rent or buy diving equipment worldwide
Programme- e-Learning:
The theory will be done at home before the course starts:
- You will receive a link with the access details.
- You have to complete the theory course online in advance.
- On the first day of your course, you bring the confirmation slip to the dive centre.
- Kick-off:
For the practice lessons on-site, we will meet at our base in Lagos at at the indicated time. If you arrive by car, parking is widely available nearby. The starting times may vary, but you will be informed upfront. In order to receive the PADI Scuba Diver certificate, you will do test dives in shallow waters and 4 open water dives in the region of the famous Ponta da Piedade. The total duration of the course on-site is 1 full day and 2 half days.

It was an impeccable experience doing the PADI Open Water course with Lagos Divers! Everyone in the team- Nuno, Fernanda, Fabio and Melanie - was super attentive and went the extra mile accommodating my personal requests. They made sure the experience wasn't just about achieving the goal of certification but also having fun!
In particular, my instructor Fabio was AWESOME, he had the super power of making you cheerfully (and safely of course!) take on seemingly scary exercises and perform to a standard you didn't even know you could. I definitely wouldn't have gotten my certificate without him!
Kudos to everyone and looking forward to diving with them again!
