The best part of the trip. We have to give a special mention to Rafa. In our opinion, he's one of those instructors who makes students love skiing and want to come back. His dedication is truly appreciated.
My experience was bad. On the first day, having selected the intermediate level, I was put in a beginner group with people who had never skied before (a wasted lesson). On the second day, I asked to be put in a different level, and they did, but they also put other people with a much lower level in there, which slowed the class down considerably and made it difficult for us to benefit from it. The instructor apologized, but the 120 euros invested in the lessons were a complete waste.
Alejandro's lesson was incredibly effective; the confidence I gained while skiing was completely different from the initial lesson. My technique improved significantly, and he dedicated time to each member of the group.
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.
Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.
Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.
