Come with us for an exciting snorkeling trip off the coast of Aci Castello! This village in the vicinity of Catania has a rocky volcanic coastline and is home to many different species. The unique location, not too far from Etna, will surprise you with incredible volcanic formations such as basalt columns and underwater lava pillows. Our guide, an expert in marine biology, will show you the best-kept secrets of this snorkeling site.
Snorkeling site
The snorkeling site depends on the wind and sea conditions, but usually we go to the Cyclops Islands Marine Protected Area. Our staff will decide whether to take our boat and navigate to the chosen spot, or to enter the water directly from the beach.
Programme
We meet at our base in Aci Castello 10 minutes before the indicated time. If you arrive by car, you can use the car park in Via Marina, only a few minutes on foot from our office. Here, you will meet your snorkeling guide, receive your equipment, and in a group of 18 people maximum, we will start the activity. Once on-site, you will receive a safety briefing and an introduction to the use of the equipment. Together with our marine biologist, you will swim and explore the beautiful underwater world. After the activity, we will offer you some fresh fruit and soft drinks to regain your strength.
