Join our boat trip on Lake Como to discover Isola Comacina and the historic villas that line the shores of Italy's deepest lake! Our captain will share with you the history of these luxurious estates, giving you a glimpse into their past and making you relive the events that animated them. We are sure you will be enchanted by this naturalistic oasis, as were the many famous people who helped make its history!
Starting from Como, the first attraction we will see is the Life Electric, a sculpture dedicated to the Como scientist Alessandro Volta, known for inventing the world's first electric generator! Afterwards, we will sail along the coast to admire the many historical villas that line the lake. Among the most celebrated ones, you will see Villa Erba and Villa d'Este, even though the ones that intrigue our guests the most are Villa Fontanelle, which was once the residence of Gianni Versace, and Villa Oleandra, owned by George Clooney. Our tour will continue to Lake Como's only island, Isola Comacina: one of the most interesting archaeological sites from the early Middle Ages in northern Italy. Next, we will see Villa Balbianello which has hosted several movie sets, not to be missed if you are a fan of Star Wars or 007!
At this point of our trip, we will cross to the other shore and head towards the Civera Bridge. This picturesque bridge will be the perfect background as we dive into the cool and refreshing waters of the lake! Once there, we will also explore the rocky canyon of the Orrido di Nesso and admire the impressive waterfall created by the junction of the Tuf and Nosé torrents. We will take the opportunity of this stop to make a toast and eat some snacks! After restarting the engines, we will reverse course and continue our tour, heading back towards the starting pier in Como, but not before seeing some other charming villas, including Villa Pliniana and Villa Mirabella.
This was by far the most cost effective tour of Como. Very private and enjoyable. Can take snack and drinks on board, they served a bottle of wine in addition. They made us take our shoes off in the boat, this is very minor but having known this i would’ve worn more socks as it can get cold. Captain Luca was an amazing tour guide. Would 1000% recommend to anyone visiting Como
