Details
The coast of Santa Maria di Leuca is famous for its beautiful rock formations and caves. With our boat trip to the caves from Santa Maria di Leuca with Swimming, you can visit either the eastern side bathed by the Adriatic Sea, or the western side overlooking the Ionian Sea.
We will depart from the tourist port of Santa Maria di Leuca and, at the discretion of the skipper, we will cruise towards the Adriatic or the Ionian Sea, passing Punta Meliso, the place where the two seas join. We will see the magnificent Leuca Lighthouse and observe wonderful 19th-century villas built on the coast.
Adriatic coastline
The tour begins with a short stop at Grotta Cazzafri, with its three magnificent arches, and then continues towards Grotta Terradico, the small Verdusella and Grotta del Soffio where you will be able to feel the breath of the sea. We will then cruise in the direction of the splendid Grotta della Vora, characterized by a hole at the top through which the sun penetrates, creating wonderful light effects. We will then make a stop for swimming in the turquoise water of the caves before heading back to Santa Maria di Leuca.
Ionian coastline
The first cave we will find near Punta Ristola is Grotta Porcinara, carved by men in ancient times for the worship of pagan gods, immediately followed by Grotta del Diavolo. The tour continues with Grotta del Fiume, which has a freshwater spring inside, the wonderful Grotta delle Tre Porte, Caverna dei Giganti, Grotta della Stalla and the majestic Grotta del Drago. During the tour, we will stop for swimming in the crystal-clear water at the entrance of the caves. Then we will go back to the port of Santa Maria di Leuca, where our tour will come to an end.Highlights

A wonderful experience with Marco, the boat driver. He was also a great tour guide during the cave tour. It was a real pleasure. See you next time!
