What to Expect

Embark on an exhilarating adventure to the renowned Samaria Gorge, starting with a scenic bus journey from Heraklion to the heart of the White Mountains. Begin your day with a relaxing drive to Omalos, where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast before beginning your challenging hike.

The trek will take you across rugged terrain, through ancient forests, and alongside a river fed by fresh-water springs. Take in the breathtaking views of Crete’s stunning mountain range and keep an eye out for wild mountain goats. Accompanied by a knowledgeable mountain guide fluent in English, German, and Greek, you will receive all necessary information and tickets for the hike and ferry.

Set off into Samaria Gorge at your own pace, with your guide ensuring everyone stays on course and offering assistance as needed. After completing the hike, you will reach the charming village of Agia Roumeli, known for its cozy taverns, bars, and shops. Here, take some free time to swim in the refreshing waters or enjoy a leisurely lunch. Later in the afternoon, board a boat from Agia Roumeli to Sfakia, where your bus will be ready to transport you back to Heraklion. Immerse yourself in a day of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural exploration in the magnificent Samaria Gorge!

How to Get There

• Meeting time: 20 minutes before departure

• Pick up: If you want to use our pick up service from around the area, please let us know after completing the booking. We will pick you up at a designated point at or very near to your accommodation at the scheduled pickup time. Note that the pick up is for free for the area of Heraklion. If you are located outside this area, a surcharge may apply and must be paid on site. At the end of the trip, we will go back to our starting point, and if you used our pick up service, you will be dropped off at the pick up point.

• Not suitable for people with serious medical conditions
