Explore the gems of Spinalonga, Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, and Plaka on this captivating multi-stop tour from Heraklion. Begin your journey with your local guide at Agios Nikolaos on the Gulf of Mirabello, known for its charming lake famously explored by Jacques Cousteau. Wander through the city at your leisure or unwind at a cozy café.
Next, travel to Elounda's harbor and board a ferry to Spinalonga Island. This historical isle served as a natural guard for the ancient city of Olous. Choose between a guided tour or independent exploration. Alternatively, opt for a 1-hour boat trip to a secret spot for a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters (additional cost). Afterward, head to a nearby bay for swimming and a delightful BBQ on board. Enjoy a feast of pork BBQ, Greek salad, feta cheese, bread, seasonal fruit, wine, and Fanta. On Sundays, savor dinner at a local tavern instead.
Continue to Plaka, a quaint fishing village that once served as the ferry port for the leper colony, made famous by a book and Greek TV series. Finally, visit the capital town of Lasithi, Agios Nikolaos. Relax at a café by the mesmerizing Lake Voulismeni, explore local shops, or take a refreshing swim before returning to your accommodation.

I highly recommend the trip for anyone who would like to explore Agios Nikolaos, Spinalonga & Plaka. We were picked up from our meeting point on time and everything went smooth and our guide Georgia was vey knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We even visited an olive farm at the start of the trip. If it was up to me I would have opted to stay at Plaka instead of getting the boat to Spinalonga which was an extra 18 Euros in cash for non EU citizens per person. I was more interested in swimming and relaxing by the beach, especially that it was such a hot day.
