What to Expect

Start your ultimate surfing journey and learn how to master the towering waves of the Atlantic Ocean with our surf lessons in the beautiful region of Sintra! Whether you are a beginner wanting to stand on the board for the first time or want to refresh and improve your surfing skills - here you will have the unique opportunity to work towards your personal goals with a professional instructor at your side and experience unforgettable moments.

In small groups of up to 5 participants older than 13 years, and after a warm-up session in the sand, you will be familiarised with the necessary theory about surfing and your environment. Afterwards, you will learn how to practically use the information and have the opportunity to practice your technique ashore. Once in the water, you can finally try to stand on your board and ride your first waves or improve your existing skills with the new tips and tricks you have learned. In any case, you will leave the beach many great experiences richer after these fun-filled hours!

How To Get There

• Meeting place: We meet at the selected beach, depending on the tides to ensure the best conditions (Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande, beaches of Carcavelos, Colares or Sintra). You will be informed about the exact meeting place in advance.

• Meeting time: 15 minutes before the start of the activity

• Pick up: please contact us after completing the booking, if you wish to make use of our pick up service (at a surcharge of round-trip shuttle to the airport: €80 per trip per person)

• Paid car parks at the meeting place (beach of Carcavelos)

• Free car parks at the meeting place (Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande, beaches of Colares or Sintra)

Start time

• The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions, so please plan some extra time on the day of your surf lessons. The exact start times are available 1 days in advance. We will inform you in time after you have completed the booking.

Course content

• Theory session on the beach

• The right warm-up

• Practice on the beach

• Practice in the sea: approx. 1.5 hours

• Safety rules

• The approach to each of our students depends on the level of their group as well as their individual expectations

Surfing beginners at our school are typically able to:

- After 1 day: catch a wave and stand up on the board
