About the Activity

What to Expect

Let your little ones enjoy an unrivalled surfing adventure on the beautiful coast of Sintra with our surf courses for children from 6 to 12 years. Whether they have already stood on a board or are trying this fun activity for the first time, they can work with our experienced instructors to develop their skills and goals at their own pace. In small groups of up to 5 little participants, our professional surf instructors can focus on every kid and create a safe and enjoyable environment. First, the children will have a warm-up session in the sand and get familiarised with essential techniques or learn how to improve them. After that, they will learn in a fun way about the activity, their equipment as well as the beach.

Once in the water, there will be a first period of adaption to their environment, when our beginners enter without a board in order to feel the move and strength of the waves. Afterwards, they can finally try to stand on their boards and ride their first waves or improve their existing skills with the new tips and tricks they have learned onshore. After hours of fun and adventure, your little ones will leave the beach with many great memories richer.

How To Get There

• Meeting place: We meet at the selected beach, depending on the tides to ensure the best conditions (Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande, beaches of Carcavelos, Colares or Sintra). You will be informed about the exact meeting place in advance.

• Meeting time: 15 minutes before the start of the activity

• Pick up: please contact us after completing the booking, if you wish to make use of our pick up service (at a surcharge of round-trip shuttle to the airport: €80 per trip per person)

• Paid car parks at the meeting place (beach of Carcavelos)

• Free car parks at the meeting place (Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande, beaches of Colares or Sintra)

Start time

• The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions, so please plan some extra time on the day of your surf lessons. The exact start times are available 1 days in advance. We will inform you in time after you have completed the booking.

Course content

• Theory session on the beach

• The right warm-up

• Practice on the beach

• Practice in the sea: 1-1.5 hours

• The approach to each of our students depends on the level of their group as well as their individual expectations

Surfing beginners at our school are typically able to:

- After 1 day: catch a wave and stand up on the board
