About the Activity

What to Expect

Embark on a captivating day trip to the enchanting island of Chrissi with us! Your journey begins at the port of Ierapetra, the southernmost town in Europe, located in southeast Crete. Ierapetra, meaning "holy stone," boasts a rich history, highlighted by the impressive Venetian fortress visible from the port. Our boat, equipped with comfortable seating and a shaded deck area, will ensure a pleasant ride as we head towards Chrissi.

As we approach Chrissi, you will spot the small rocky islet of Mikronisi on the island’s east side. Our boat will dock at Chrissi’s only harbor on the south side, next to a charming small beach. Chrissi Island is famed for its pristine beaches, particularly the renowned Golden Beach on the north side. A short walk along a wooden path through a forest of rare Lebanon cedar trees will bring you to this stunning beach, where you can enjoy crystal clear waters and white sands composed of tiny shells.

Explore the eastern side of Golden Beach, where shells and fossils embedded in volcanic rocks tell the tale of when the island was submerged thousands of years ago. On the western side, a rocky path leads to the chapel of Saint Nicolas, dating back to the 13th century, along with Minoan and Roman ruins, a salt pan, and the island’s lighthouse. Chrissi Island, a protected area under the Natura 2000 program, is celebrated for its extraordinary natural beauty. With its serene beaches, ancient ruins, and unique cedar forest, Chrissi offers a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. Join us for an unforgettable adventure, where you will have ample time to explore and relax on this Cretan gem, leaving you with lasting memories of its serene beauty.
