What to Expect

Embark on a captivating 3-day journey from Fes to Erg Chebbi Dunes, where you will traverse the diverse landscapes of Morocco and enjoy a memorable camel ride through the mesmerizing desert. Start your adventure with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Fez, followed by a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Enjoy the lush oak and cedar forests, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the Barbary apes. Your first stop is in Ifrane, often called the ‘Switzerland of Morocco,’ where you will experience the town's unique alpine charm. A lunch break awaits you in the quaint town of Midelt before continuing through the striking Ziz Valley with its rugged scenery and views of the Tafilalt Oasis. By late afternoon, you will arrive at Merzouga to reach the breathtaking Erg Chebbi Dunes. Here, you will have dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel on the desert’s edge.

On the second day, you have the option to rise early for a stunning sunrise over the dunes or enjoy a leisurely morning. This day is all about discovering the Sahara Desert. You can choose from various activities such as visiting historical towns and palm groves around the Tafilalt Oasis, taking a Jeep to see black volcanic rock formations and fossils, meeting a nomadic family, riding quad bikes over the dunes, or experiencing the unique Gnawa music in Khamlia village. In the late afternoon, embark on a camel trek to a Berber camp situated deep in the dunes. The evening is filled with a traditional desert meal, learning about Berber culture, and spending the night under the stars. On the final day, you can optionally wake up early to catch the sunrise again. After breakfast, enjoy a camel ride back to the edge of the desert. Freshen up in Merzouga before starting your return journey to Fez, arriving by late afternoon or evening.
