Give your child an exciting skiing experience with our lessons for kids from 6 years in Alto Campoo! A top destination in the heart of the Cantabrian Mountains, Alto Campoo offers a welcoming environment for skiers of all levels. With over 27 kilometres of slopes, the resort provides the perfect terrain for both beginners and more advanced skiers. Whether your child is just starting out or already confident on skis, they will find well-maintained slopes suited to their level. The small group sizes, with a maximum of 8 children per instructor, ensure personalized attention and steady progress at each child’s own pace.
The lesson begins with a warm-up and a detailed introduction led by our experienced instructors. For first-time skiers, your child will learn the essential basics of skiing — getting comfortable with the equipment, finding their balance, and mastering techniques like the snowplough turn. These foundational skills help build confidence and control on the slopes. As they improve, they will move on to gentle green and blue runs, practicing parallel skiing and refining their movements.
For intermediate and advanced young skiers, lessons focus on enhancing technique and confidence on steeper terrain. Children will work on perfecting both long and short turns, improving stability, and navigating more challenging slopes under the close guidance of our professional instructors. These lessons offer a fantastic opportunity for kids to develop their skiing skills while enjoying the beautiful winter landscapes of Alto Campoo.
On the first day, we meet 10 minutes before the start of the lesson.

When booking a lesson, they ask you to choose the child's level. In my case, my 8-year-old daughter was a beginner, which I indicated both when making the booking and to the instructor. However, during the 3-hour lesson, they took her up on the chairlift, resulting in a nasty fall due to her skiing level. If they ask you to choose the student's level, I thought that, apart from age, the groups would be formed by skill level, but it's quite unlikely that everyone will be at the same level. If it's for beginners, I think you should either make sure the whole group is beginners or hire an individual instructor so your child will finish the lesson happy.
It was a 3-hour lesson for my 11-year-old daughter, and she came out thrilled and skiing—what more could you ask for? The instructors were lovely; thank you, we'll be back soon.
Very good class and very friendly staff.
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.
Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.
Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.
