You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.

Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.

Yes, a ski pass is needed from the first day. For children under 5, the pass is free but must be collected from the ticket office before the lesson. For more advanced children who can ski on red runs (from level Yeti 3), the Portes du Soleil ski pass is required.
