What to Expect

Experience a unique night in the stunning winter landscape of Abisko with our snowshoeing tour under the northern lights. Your guide will introduce you to the art of moving through snow with snowshoes, allowing you to explore the magical environment with ease. As you traverse the snowy terrain, the moon and stars will illuminate your path, casting enchanting shadows across the snowfields. If the skies remain clear, you may be fortunate enough to witness the northern lights dancing above. Along the way, you will discover various animal tracks in the birch forest, with the possibility of spotting signs of forest hares, ptarmigans, foxes, lemmings, and maybe even a moose.

During a peaceful break, you will enjoy warm berry juice while listening to the soothing sounds of the forest and the distant fells. On a clear night with a full moon, the view over the Abisko mountain range becomes spectacular, especially the famous Lapporten formation, a U-valley sculpted by the ice age. The tour offers a moderate level of difficulty, ensuring that even those new to snowshoeing can fully appreciate the unique nocturnal experience in this beautiful resort. We offer free pick-up from different locations in Abisko and Björkliden. If you wish to make use of our pickup service, please contact us after completing the booking.

We meet in front of Abisko Guesthouse, 5 minutes before the start of the activity.
