In December 2023, the Icebreaker Arktis reached Kemi after undergoing renovations for tourism. On this unique cruise, you can experience ice floating and stroll across the frozen sea. The ship boasts a modern café and two floors of warm, inviting lounges. Originally constructed in 1980.

As you traverse the icy waters, prepare for the unforgettable ice floating experience. Equipped with specialised suits, you will float on the icy sea, a truly rare and serene experience. Following this, you can enjoy Walking on ice, an exhilarating chance to explore the frozen landscape around you and feel the crunch of ice beneath your feet. • Suitable for children of all ages, pregnant women and the elderly

• Not recommended for people with reduced mobility

• Not accessible to wheelchairs and strollers

• No pets allowed

• It is not allowed to bring your own drinks and snacks on board

• If bad weather forces the provider to cancel the activity, you’ll receive a full refund or have the option to reschedule

• The shuttle bus also makes a stop in the SnowCastle area of Kemi, so we also recommend booking additional paid services, such as a lunch buffet in Lumihiutale restaurant (€24 for adults, €15 for children) and entrance to the SnowCastle Winter Park.

• Please note that if you choose to take advantage of our pick up service the meeting time will be a few hours before the start of the activity, so free up the full day for the activity. Please be well on time (at least 5 minutes before) waiting for shuttle bus at the meeting point.
