Details

Canyoning in the Chassezac canyon is a must in the Ardèche, perfect for people ready for a new challenge. In order to progress along the river, you will need to use all the canyoning techniques that exist: walking, jumping up to 7 m, sliding, swimming, abseiling, going against the river... This is why a very good physical condition is required. But as a reward, you will spend an unforgettable day in a magnificent setting, in the middle of granite cliffs, with a succession of fun and technical obstacles.

Tour programme
- Preparation:
We meet at the booked time at the Chassezac viewpoint car park, where your guide is waiting for you. You will receive your equipment and then take the direction of the canyon, accessible after a 10-min approach walk. Before starting the tour, you will be given a briefing on the safety rules and the handling of the equipment. Then, let the adventure begin!
- Tour:
You will go through various obstacles in the middle of a wild, steep setting. Jumps (none compulsory), swimming, slides and abseiling help you to progress in the river bed. A picnic break will be organised halfway along the course, to regain your strength. We usually do the whole canyon, but there are also escape routes if the need arises.
- Return:
After 5 to 6 hours, we will reach the end of the canyon. A 45-minute walk, on a rather steep path, will be necessary to reach the cars.

A very exciting tour with unexpected elements, like following the river that runs just under rocks. Our guide Thomas was careful, nice and responsible and it was a great pleasure to be out and about in this wild nature. The equipment was great.
